A regular car service is important in order to keep your car running smoothly. There are different types of car service and it is important to get the right one for your car. Below, we briefly discuss the three different types of car service that we offer.
A minor or basic car service generally includes oil change, oil filter change and a 65-point vehicle inspection. We recommend a minor car service performed at every 6 months, or every 10,000 km, whichever comes first. Our minor car service starts from $198 (inc. GST).
A major car service usually includes oil and oil filter change, all oils and fluids top up, certain filters and spark plug replacement and a 65-point vehicle inspection. Prices vary as a major car service is tailored to your car’s needs. A major car service usually follows the recommendations provided by the car manufacturer.
A log book service, also known as factory scheduled maintenance, is usually performed at every 30,000 km, 60,000 km, 100,000 km and so on. These may vary depending on the make and model of your car, so it is important to refer to the owner’s manual for the exact intervals. A log book service usually includes inspecting and replacing certain oils, fluids and components of the vehicle as specified by the owner’s manual. Your vehicle log book will be stamped upon completion of this service. Completing these recommended services on time will not only safeguard you against major repair expenses, but it will also assist in extending the longevity of your car as well as maintaining the warranty and the car’s resale value.
Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to service your car at an authorised dealer to uphold the standard warranty. Under the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC), you would not void your standard warranty if you complete these services at other independent retailers, like us.
